President Donald Trump has announced plans for a 32-day campaign tour ahead of the November 3 U.S. midterm elections, putting increased attention on Republican efforts to retain control of Congress.

Trump said the tour will include campaign stops in states such as Texas and Ohio, with the president expected to campaign for Republican candidates during the final weeks before Election Day.

The announcement comes as candidates across the country enter the final phase of the 2026 congressional campaign. All 435 seats in the House and one-third of the Senate are being contested, making the election an important part of the political calendar.

Trump said Republican candidates want him to campaign alongside them, while some GOP candidates have focused more heavily on local issues and their own records. Reuters reported that the president's campaign schedule has come later than initially expected as the White House has spent much of the year focused on foreign-policy issues, including the conflict with Iran.

The upcoming campaign appearances are expected to bring renewed attention to inflation, gasoline prices, foreign policy, congressional control and the Trump administration's record as voters prepare to cast their ballots.
